Since online written communication can’t carry inflection you have to be very careful about what you write. Emoticons are a way of indicating the emotions you’re feeling. For example, if you’re happy or just kidding you’d type :-). If you’re shocked you might type #:-o. Sample main points are further examples of main points for each of the organizational patterns. Putting Theory Into Practice Study Break: Now that you’re beginning to write your Persuasive Speech you might find yourself searching for just the right word for one of your outline points.
