The fourth on-campus session is Wednesday, April 21, in 201C at 6:30 p.m.

Homework Assignments:

1. Revisit all class notes.

2. Use the Discussion Forum and/or SPEmail and/or the Chat Rooms to suggest possible Debate topics and find a debate partner. Email me your Debate topic, your partner’s name and you’re name when you’ve come to an agreement.

Graded Homework Assignments:
The following graded homework assignments must be submitted via email. The email address is srginley@yahoo.com. Submit only the number of the question and your answer in the body of your email message.
ATTACHMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Due Sunday, April 18, 6:30 p.m.

Our Group Discussion Project will be “How can the Morton College Speech 101 Internet class be improved?” We need to sample the opinions of everyone enrolled in the class. First, we need to decide what questions we want to ask everyone their opinions about. Visit the Class Survey Discussion Forum and post two or three questions we’d need to ask the class to sample their opinions about the Speech 101 Internet class. Don’t answer the questions posted by yourself or others or offer suggestions for improving the Speech 101 Internet class at this time. Just submit questions we’d need to ask the students enrolled in the class to find out their opinions about the class’ strengths and weaknesses. I’ll create a survey based on your questions and some other questions I’ll write. Then, I’ll put a link for that survey under the Due Wednesday, April 21, 6:30 p.m. homework assignments section.

Due Wednesday, April 21, 6:30 p.m.

  1. Beginning Monday morning, April 19, click on this link to email me your answers to the Speech 101 Internet Class Survey.
  2. Complete and practice your Personal Experience Speech.
  3. Write six Impromptu Speech topics on the Impromptu Speech assignment sheet on page 154. We’ll role dice in class to see which of the six topics you’ll present.

What are they talking about? is a list of out-of-context quotes made by famous people. See if you can read their quotes and tell what they’re talking about.

Want to see what they were talking about? Look at the What are they talking about? (solution)
