Using Your Speech Power!

Textbook

Public Speaking was the first course I taught when my teaching career began in 1977, and it’s a course I’m still teaching. Because of my experience in different educational environments with a variety of textbooks, I’ve seen what does and doesn’t work in college-level speech classes. That’s why I wrote Using Your Speech Power!.

Using Your Speech Power! keeps students engaged in the learning process with motivational segments called Passing Thoughts, It’s a Speech Fact, Quotations, and Adventures in Speech. Multiple, creative review formats appear in Quiz Yourself Crossword Puzzles, Putting Theory Into Practice Exercises, and You Ought to Know by Now Review Questions.

Instructors find a completely self-contained teaching unit in Using Your Speech Power!. They don’t need to supplement this textbook with outside handouts or transparencies, and they don’t need to create original testing materials.
