2. (20 points-2 points each) Write examples of the following in the spaces provided. You may use any subjects you choose.
a. Write an open-ended question. An open-ended question can't be answered by a "yes" or "no". An example would be, "How can the Morton College parking lot be improved?"

4.) Get the audience to take action.
5.) Make use of the general sense of excitement and agreement.
d. Write one of the two things an existing attitude will do when a new attitude is linked to it. An existing attitude will 1.) resist changing and 2.) pull the new attitude towards it so the new attitude can be classified consistently with the old attitude.
e. Write a verbal hint. "cow" or any other written word.
f. Give an example of a channel. The two most commonly used communication channels are light reflection (for visual messages) and air vibration (for spoken messages).
g. Explain how you would use a respect for higher authority motivational appeal in a speech persuading the audience to quit smoking. You would cite the opinion of a cigarette smoking expert such as a doctor or a person suffering with lung cancer, or quote a famous person who the audience admires and who opposes cigarette smoking.
h. Explain the difference between task and maintenance energy. Task energy gets the group discussion job done. Maintenance energy helps to get the job done but focuses on the relationships between group members as opposed to the job itself.
i. Write one difference between a symposium and a round table group discussion format. I can think of 3 differences.
1.) The round table has no audience while the symposium does.

3.) The round table is held for the participant's benefit. The symposium is held for the audience's benefit.
