Announcements - April 21, 2004:

Hello, Everyone:

Welcome to week #13!

We’re starting to wrap things up! This week we’ll run out of book to read and YOTKBN questions to answer. Yes, we’re that close to the end of the term!

This week we’ll be reading about group discussions. Be sure to learn the various group discussion roles, how they’re played and how you should react to them. Notice the problem-solving group discussion sequence. We’ll be using this sequence to solve a problem as part of the Group Discussion Project. As soon as you’ve read and understood this material you’ll automatically become the most knowledgeable member in about 90% of the meetings in which you’ll participate. Then, you’re really dangerous. (in a positive way)

I’ve set up two new discussion forums. We’ll use Week #13 SPE 101 Weaknesses discussion forum to post any class weaknesses/problems we identify based on the Group Discussion Survey Results. We’ll use the Week #13 SPE 101 Strengths discussion forum to post the class strong points we identify based on the survey results.

On the lighter side, this week’s Study Break offers some funny quotes about meetings and two true stories about Richard Brinsley Sheridan and word-play.

Keep in touch. Let me know if you need anything. Remember, I’m never more than an email away.

Take care,
Steven
