Announcements - April 7, 2004:

Hello, Everyone:

Welcome to week #11.

I'm hoping to have the Informative and Introduce a Speaker speeches graded and in the mail by Monday morning. It's unlikely I'll have enough time to grade and mail all of the speeches before Good Friday.

Persuasion is this week's new topic. You'll learn about the difference between persuasion and coercion, attitudes, motivational appeals and the fine art of getting other people to do what you want them to do.

Keep working on your Informative and Introduce Another Speaker Speeches. We’ll present both speeches on April 7th. Re-read the Informative Speech (pages 150 & 151) and Introduce Another Speaker (page 159) speech assignment sheets. You don't want to lose points because you didn't turn in a complete assignment. Practice working with your visual aid several times before you present your speech in class. Visual aids take some getting used to.

As always, keep in touch. Let me know if you need anything. I’m never more than an email away.

Take care,
Steven
