Announcements - March 17, 2004:

Hello, Everyone:

Welcome to week #9! We’re halfway through the term!!

Be sure you do your Discussion Forum postings and submit your quizzes. If you’re not doing these you’re passing up some points. The Discussion Forum points are easy points.

Remember, Test #1 needs to be completed in the Writing Math Lab, room 105D, by 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. The Writing Math Lab hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. except during Spring Break, when the Writing/Math Lab will only be open Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. You should give yourself at least 50 minutes to complete the test. Turn in your completed Take-Home Test #1 along with the Test #1 you’ll take at the Writing Math Lab. The Writing Math Lab staff will ask you for a picture id. card before giving you Test #1.

Every question on Test #1 was a YOTKBN Review Question so look over your YOTKBN answers. I’ve posted the STC Questions and Answers submitted by the Speech classes on the Week #9 Activities Page under the Links to Additional Resources. All of this week’s Links to Additional Resources focus on test-taking. I’d also suggest looking at Practice Test #1 on the website. Finally, the questions on quizzes #5 & #6 are very similar to the questions on Test #1.

In your spare time continue to make Informative and Introduce a Speaker Speech progress. This week’s Discussion Forum asks you to plan the evidence you’ll be using in your Informative Speech.

Finally, if you feel you need a Study Break check out the Yogisms. For your sanity’s sake be careful not to think about the Yogisms too hard, though.

That’s all for now. As always, keep in touch. Let me know if you need anything.

Take care,
Steven
