Announcements - February 11, 2003:

Welcome to week #4!

This week’s focus will be outlining. If you can remember 4 simple outlining rules your outline will automatically give you a well-organized speech.

Although they’re not submitted for grades, be sure to do the First and Third Outlining Exercises in the book. They’ll help you to hone your outlining skills. Also, look at “What’s Wrong?”. “What’s Wrong?” is a face-to-face class activity that will let you practice finding common outlining and main point errors.

I’ve created a Week #4 Discussion Forum so we can speak about the previous public speaking experiences we’ve had. Some of these experiences were mentioned briefly in Week #1, but this will allow us to go into more detail.

Use your group’s private Discussion Forum to post your Persuasive Speech outline rough draft. For clarity’s sake please title this posting “Persuasive Speech Outline Rough Draft.”

As always, keep in touch. Let me know if you need anything. I’m never more than an email away.

Take care,
Steven
